Itinerary

Arequipa – Sillar Quarries – Culebrillas

The tour begins with pickup from the office or centrally located hotel at the selected time (9:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.).

First stop at the Volcano Viewpoint, where panoramic views of the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes can be enjoyed.

We then visit the Añashuayco Quarry, an impressive active sillar canyon, where master stoneworkers demonstrate the process of extracting and carving this volcanic stone, characteristic of Arequipa’s architecture.

We continue to the Culebrillas Gorge, where a short walk is taken through this narrow natural canyon, appreciating petroglyphs and unique geological formations.

On the return, we observe the Apachetas, stone piles used as ancestral offerings along Andean trails.

Return to the city of Arequipa at the end of the tour.
