Cusco City Tour
The tour starts promptly at 9:00 AM, gathering at the historic Main Square. Beyond admiring the urban attractions, we will ascend to the main archaeological sites located on the northern slope of the city, where each site reveals a different chapter of the Andean worldview.
We will start the tour at Qoricancha, known as the “Temple of the Sun”. This sanctuary was the religious center of the Inca Empire and is renowned for its perfect masonry and the remains of walls covered in gold. We will then ascend to Sacsayhuamán, the megalithic fortress that dominates the city from above. From its cyclopean walls, you will enjoy an unmatched panoramic view of Cusco.
Next, we will visit Qenqo, a ceremonial site dedicated to Pachamama, carved into a large rock mass where offerings were made. Then, we will head to Pukapukara, a military outpost and checkpoint used to monitor access to the Inca capital.
Finally, we will visit Tambomachay, known as the “Temple of Water”, a set of fountains and channels that showcase the Incas’ hydraulic knowledge. After approximately five hours of exploration, we will return to the meeting point or to your hotel in Cusco.
