- From Pitumarca: A less crowded alternative, where the hike is shorter (1.5 km), although the access road is less traveled.
In our tour, we use the Cusipata – Chillihuani route, which offers more complete landscapes and better views of the Ausangate.
What is the best season to visit the 7 Colors Mountain?
The best time is during the dry season (April to October). During these months, the skies are clear and the colors of the mountain are more vibrant. The top of the Vinicunca Mountain is at 5,200 meters above sea level. Therefore, it is important to be prepared for the altitude and take the hike slowly. It is recommended to acclimate in Cusco (3,400 m) at least 1 or 2 days before the tour.

Can horses or motorcycles be hired for the ascent?
